Yoga Wimbledon – Jana
Position: Yoga teacher
Qualifications: Member of the Independent Yoga network. REPs level 3 Yoga. 90 hours foundation course with Julia Weltman in Vinyasa flow with BWYin 2018. After that I decided to take 200 hours Hatha Yoga course with Leon Deith IYN in a lovely holistic Yoga Ananda studio in Reigate and I qualified in May 2019.
Information: I first went to yoga 20 years ago when I was suffering from a very bad back pain. Unfortunately even the doctors could not work out what was the cause of it all. So I have decided to try my first yoga class hoping the pain will go away with time. I could not believe how different I felt after just one class. I began a regular yoga practise and saw a steady increase in my health, flexibility and strength as well in my ability to deal with a demanding job with a new sense of calmness. I was completely hooked and yoga became a big part of my daily routine and life.
In the last 20 years I have attended lots of courses and different workshops to learn all I can about yoga , both to improve my own practise as well as pass what I have learnt on to my students. Over the years I have gained a deep knowledge of Yin yoga, Iyengar, Sivananda, Vinyasa, Chair yoga, and yoga nidra.
I’m a strong believer that anyone can do yoga and am always looking for ways to make it accessible to everyone. I have completed chair yoga course and sometimes incorporate this into my one to one sessions. I also did children course and try to practise with both of my boys who have autism.
I use my love of nature and outdoors to influence my classes and encourage my students to work with different energies through the wheel of the year to help to create a deeper connection to themselves as well as to our natural environment.
